I have been active also in my Flickr Group -- Pinoy Kodakero. It's a very wonderful feeling to have a community of friends with the same passion in photography and sharing photos, moments and experiences. There, I get to meet different people from different walks of life.

One of the many activities we have in PK is sharing of photos. Here's the link of the resulf of this activity entitle Domesticated Diva. It's a sharing of photos about the "rain" experience -- before, during, and after the rain. Since the activity was full of fun and excitement, a simple video by the Diva herself, Chiqui Pineda was produced. Here, see it for yourself as it showcases the collated photos of those PK's who joined the fun. Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka.

Note: Quick Time is needed to run the show. Hehehe!

Enjoy Watching!

Blog EntryAn Experience To BeJan 27, '08 5:31 PM
for everyone

You are in your car driving home. Thoughts wander to
the game you want to see or meal you want to eat, when
suddenly a sound unlike any you've ever heard fills
the air. The sound is high above you. A trumpet? A
choir? A choir of trumpets? You don't know, but you
want to know. So you pull over, get out of your car,
and look up. As you do, you see you aren't the only
curious one. The roadside has become a parking lot.
Car doors are open, and people are
staring at the sky. Shoppers are racing out of the
grocery store. The Little League baseball game across
the street has come to a halt. Players and parents are
searching the clouds. And what they see, and what you
see, has never before been seen.

As if the sky were a curtain, the drapes of the
atmosphere part. A brilliant light spills onto the
earth. There are no shadows. None.

From every hue ever seen and a million more never
seen. Riding on the flow is an endless fleet of
angels. They pass through the curtains one myriad at a
time, until they occupy every square inch of the sky.

North. South. East. West.

Thousands of silvery wings rise and fall in unison,
and over the sound of the trumpets, you can hear the
cherubim and seraphim chanting, Holy, holy, holy.. The
final flank of angels is followed by twenty-four
silver-bearded elders and a multitude of souls who
join the angels in worship.

Presently the movement stops and the trumpets are
silent, leaving only the triumphant triplet: Holy,
holy, holy. Between each word is a pause. With each
word, a profound reverence. You hear your voice join
in the chorus. You don't know why you say the words,
but you know you must.

Suddenly, the heavens are quiet. All is quiet. The
angels turn, you turn, the entire world turns and
there He is. Jesus.

Through waves of light you see the silhouetted figure
of Christ the King. He is atop a great stallion, and
the stallion is atop a billowing cloud. He opens his
mouth, and you are surrounded by his declaration:

I am the Alpha and the Omega.

The angels bow their heads. The elders remove their
crowns. And before you is a Figure so consuming that
you know, instantly you know: Nothing else matters.
Forget stock markets and school reports. Sales
meetings and football games. Nothing is newsworthy..
All that mattered, matters no more.... for Christ has
come

Please let me know the exact time you read this. It is
mystical--honest.

This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven,
he saw me, and he asked: My child, what is your
greatest wish for today?

I responded: 'Lord please; take car e of the person
who is reading this message, their family and their
special friends. They deserve it and I love them very
much'.

The love of God is like the ocean, you can see its
beginnings but not its end.

This message works on the day you receive it.

Note: I just received this message from a friend through email. :)

Blog EntryBuhay Sa AmerikaJan 20, '08 11:17 PM

HAY BUHAY AMERICA TALAGA
A friend named "Maeng Ni" posted this.

Blog EntryPicture Perfect!Nov 21, '07 1:45 AM
for everyone
It's very heart warming to learn that three of my photos were featured in Manila Bulletin Picture Perfect section yesterday, November 20, 2007. It's very inspiring that some of my students are encouraged to participate in the same column to experience also what I experienced yesterday-- happiness!

Here's the page written by Mr. Raffy Paredes, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for dedicating two paragraphs to introduce me as one of the contributors. I forgot to mention though, that I am currently teaching in AUP Academy.

Blog EntryAssignment!Nov 7, '07 6:59 AM
for everyone
This coming Dec 9-14, 2007 at Camp Chimpkul, Saraburi, Thailand will be the 8th SAUM International Pathfinder Camporee. I'm not sure if I should be happy or what after I was informed that I will be a part of the team to cover the event on the duration of the activities.

However, deep inside, it's a privilege in my part to join the team of professional or experienced photographers coming from different countries, and me from the Philippines. Learning from their introductions, they've been in this job for years.

I just tried to volunteer: 1. To help cover the event. 2. Include in the files/document photos from the Philippine contingent. 3. To learn and share ideas, skills, tips and all from and to each other. 4. To experience how it is to be in the front line covering 33 countries joining the camporee. 5. To enhance my passion.

So, what do you say?

Blog EntryRon in DPP Magazine Cover [Kuno!]Oct 11, '07 12:02 PM
for everyone
I got inspired tonight to make a DPP Magazine Cover replica inspired by one member of the DPP Online. It dawned on me to put Ron as my subject for the cover. So here it is, take a look!

How I wish that  time will come, the DPP Magazine would feature also about Child Photography. I wish also that my creation of this cover would inspire them to consider this idea.

So, what do you think friends? Is it a good subject for a magazine cover? Hehehe!

Blog EntrySCAM! AUSTRALIAN LOTTERY INC. Aug 28, '07 5:43 PM
for everyone
I recently received an email from the so-called Australian Lottery Inc. telling me that I won a huge amount of $450, 000.00. Wow, it got me excited at first and well, just for the sake of trying, I sent back a reply as it asked me some informations.

I was amazed how fast the adressee replied asking me more informations on how they can send the money: Bank to Bank transaction, Electronic Money Transfer, Check Delivery or Diplomatic Transfer.

To make sure whether this is really true, I googled about Diplomatic Transfer to know how it operates. I noticed some links telling me about SCAM LETTERS similar to what I received. So, I also googled this Australian Lottery and was again informed that it's among the list of SCAMMERS.

For quick information, here are few things to know whether the letter is legitimate or valid.

Remember these tips for avoiding scam lotteries:

  1. You cannot win a legitimate lottery if you have not entered it.

  2. You must purchase a ticket to enter a legitimate lottery.

  3. NO legitimate lottery contacts winners.  Winners must always contact the lottery first.

  4. You never have to pay to collect winnings from a legitimate lottery or sweepstake. You pay taxes AFTER you you receive the winnings.  There are no other fees.

  5. It is illegal under federal law to play ANY foreign lottery from the United States.

  6. Scammers often use the name of a legitimate lottery in the scam.

  7. Since scammers simply invent new names for their fake lottery scams, it is more accurate to say that if you do not see the lottery on the list of legitimate lotteries, it is probably a scam.

 Once again, don't be fooled.

Blog EntryDream Come True!Aug 5, '07 10:19 PM
for everyone
June 15, 2007 marks the day I held my new expensive toy for an enthusiast like me. My wife could notice the ear-to-ear smile I sported on my face. She knew very well how I longed to own one of those DSLR's I just admire whenever I go online and read reviews of each of them. That was Friday and we were on our way to Candelaria to visit her parents.

Along the way, my hands were restless, I couldn't wait. I wanted to hold and try out the camera. And probably you know why. I thought of DPP, Pinoy PC, Tipid PC, PiPho and other sites where sooner I would be able to join the EB's and share my photos, or maybe join some contests and showcase the skills I have long been keeping with in me.

I wanted to read the manual while inside the van, but it was too risky to open the box for others might notice the gadget we were keeping. I was afraid of what others may think and do. So, I held myself from tinkering the box and while myself away on the sceneries we see out of the window.

Right after we arrived, I was trying to relax and act as if I still have no DSLR, but inside of me I knew I am no longer the same because of it. I wonder how a certain gadget can change the way we look at ourselves and perhaps the way we look at others. I felt proud, "in", and ambitious.

However, I should not forget that this is an expensive hobby. It can get so addictive that it may eat up our family budget, much more that we are expecting our first born son by September this year. Control, discipline, practice delaying gratification, balance of expenses and time.

I need to focus on what I really wanted to do with this gadget. How could I contribute to the community I live in, much more to the church I'm serving? In one way or another, I need to find ways to use this for good -- for God. After all, I prayed to God about it. Now that He granted me one, I need to return Him the favor in various ways I might learn along the way.

Blog EntryDream of a lifetime!Apr 5, '07 11:39 AM
for everyone
I can't even remember when was the first time I owned a film SLR camera. Yet, since that day the passion within me to be a photographer kept burning. I took hundreds and even thousands of photographs already in various events like wedding, graduation, JS Prom, and school events among others.

My favorite subjects were sunset and sunrise, flowers, candid shots of people [beautiful ladies especially] and scenic places.

Now, I have this dream. A dream that any day sooner I would own a decent DSLR [Nikon D80, Canon 400D, Nikon D40] in that order of preference. Just after our wedding last December 2006, I got more inspired watching our photographer clicking his gadgets to perpetuate our moments.

Haaaaayyy... As of now, all I can do is to read reviews in some trusted fora, get to know  some high caliber lensmen, admire their shots, and dream with much prayer that the day will come when I will hold in my hands my own DSLR and shoot many pictures up to my heart's desire with a thought in mind: PERPETUATE THE SPLIT SECOND MOMENTS!
